Of Flying Hats and Passing Wind

We are having a warm windy day on the eve of this Thanksgiving.   It's the last warm day expected for awhile so I had to get outside and enjoy it.

I went for a bike ride.  Because of the wind, I felt like I was going backwards while trying to go up a few of our rolling Texas hills. I tried farting a few times to see if that would give me a burst of propulsion but it didn't help.

It was so windy I'm sure I was playing catch with sombreros blown in from Mexico.

At the apex of my longest hill, my top blew off, exposing my itty bitties to the world.

Kidding.  Kidding.

My boobs are huge.

Kidding.  Kidding.

Sorry guys. No clothing was lost or abused while I was riding my bike, much to the disappointment of the street workers, gardeners, roofers, and other laborers fighting Mother Nature's latest bout of PMS.

Fortunately, the wind blew me back to my house with all pieces and parts intact.  Wait.  Maybe I should go for a TSA body scan to make sure.

Sheesh.  Was it good for you?

AnyTMIforTSA, after a quick trip to the gym for a swim, I put my oven to work.

This pumpkin pie was very popular last year so this year I made two:

It calls for cream and maple syrup, something you don't always see in a pumpkin pie recipe.

One for me and the rest for the others.

Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Don't hog the dark meat.  Be safe and be nice to your siblings, 'K?

"be nice to your siblings"

Do I have to?

Briana - If I do, you do. ;-)

Happy T-Day Reffie and hubby!

Pies look yummy! Lots of beta carotene, protein, dairy, etc. Make that the main dish with turkey on the side.

Happy Turkey Day Reffers!

Those pies look delish. *salivating*

I've got my own turkey in the oven and the only "riding" I'll be doing is back down the hallway to my bed.

Do the rolling hills ever cause injury or death? Sounds worse than a twister.

Hope you and your hubby have/had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My son, brother, and I are all ADD, so the conversation was like a category 5 hurricane. My poor husband was in the eye of the storm.

@Deb - Thank you! The pie was a hit...but not in the face. The turkey made a great side dish!

@Quirky - Can I have a "ride" up the stairs to my bed. Burp. Zzzzz.

@Lauren - YIKES! I would have brought ear plugs. ;-)

It's about time I got over her. Our paths cross all the time on other blogs. Good for you for not letting a little wind stop you. I could've used a bike ride AFTER the Thanksgiving dinner.

MMmmm... That does sound like a good recipe. Are you going to share it with us? Pumpkin pie is something I've never made. Always wanted to though.

We got our first bout of true winter here today in snow form, it was a nice break from the winds that have plagued us all fall.

Happy Thanksgiving!

@Georgie - Thanks. I hope you had a great day!

@Jayne - I'm trying to burn it by sitting on the couch. It's not working.

@Ivy - Brrrrr. I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!

Hope you and yours had a WONDERFUL T-Day Reffie! And mmmm, those pies look delish.

But I was hoping for a shot of the itty bitties? Or the Humongoes?

Kidding. Just kidding.

There's something about those two creamy-looking pies and your tease about your bike ride that seems very unfair to me.

But kudos for mentioning itty-bitties in a Thanksgiving post! How wonderfully inappropriate! ;-)

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving, Reffie! Those pies look very yummy... I don't suppose you saved me some?

That may be the most normal comment Ziva's ever left on a post.

I hope she's not frozen or something.

ReformingGeek said...

@Jean - Go to the gym. ;-)

@Marvin - Now, now. No pie for you.

@Mike - Hee Hee. I am to please.

@Ziva - When I see the cookies....

@Mike - Yep. Chunk of ice.

Sound like youse had a happy T Day.

Now, I want some pie.

The dark meat? No way, white meat. The pumpkin pie, I just pour it out of the can.
Happy belated Thanksgiving!

@Old Man - Thanks. I had make yet another pie and it's almost gone. Be quick.

@Sue - Thanks. I guess I won't be eating at your house. ;-)

LOL! farting = burst of propulsion.

I'd like to see that one on Mythbusters.

Intriguing - maple syrup might just make a pumpkin pie edible at that!
