It's a brand new year and all the elves sitting on shelves have been put away or burned for warmth or eaten by the dog or whatever. Evil Twin is bored and driving me nuts so I found something to amuse her. I now introduce Gnome on the Run, the colorful garden creature that continually gets away from his evil captors, Gargoyles of the Pale.
Oh dear. I see he's been captured. I wonder where they are taking him?
I'll send Evil Twin out to help him:
Yes, that's better.
Ahem.
Moving on....
It's been a bit shaky around here. A nearby city (about 25 miles east) had NINE earthquakes yesterday. Yeah, in Texas! We've been hit by a few here and there and most folks blame the fracking, part of the process of extracting gas from the Barnett Shale. I have yet to feel the earth move under my feet but I noticed a few items hanging more crooked than usual on my walls.
Anything earth-shattering happening with you?

Evil twin teaches a "mean" headstand! BUT, seriously 9 earthquakes due to fracking??? I hope they're not large earthquakes. I grew up in Vermont on a major fault. I remember two earthquakes that were close to 6.0. One almost knocked me out of bed and broke the lamp beside me. It woke me up early, so I missed some sleep, but no major damage other than that. I have bad dreams about them. It's a very funny feeling. I hope they stop! Happy New Year!
I still can't find a real job yet.
Love it! When my garden thaws for the year, I may just copy you!
@Michelle - An "expert" interviewed on the news said that fracking isn't the cause as there hasn't been any fracking in that area. It's close to where the old Texas Stadium (Cowboy Stadium) was imploded a few years back so there is speculation that this may be the cause of the quakes. I don't think they know for sure and are still investigating. I still think that the activity to extract gas from the Barnett Shale has adverse effects, some that we don't know about yet.
@Timothy - Ugh. Good Luck!
@Bee - Thanks. Copy away!
That's fracking awful.
There were several quakes about 1 hour north of here. Nothing here though.
My dog stole a can of dog food from the counter that I forgot to put in the fridge. She took the can upstairs and was eating it on a bed when my husband caught her. I think she had the TV on.
I've got three more weeks to go wearing a splint for mallet finger. It's on my middle finger. I'm never making the bed again. That's how I injured it.
Happy New Year!
Naturally I approve of all gnome related postings!
