28 Days of Writing Challenge - It was no accident

I'm not sure how much I agree with the "everything happens for a reason" philosophy although I will admit that looking back I can see how some things fell into place.  Or is that just hindsight?  It's easy to find connections in an analysis of the past.  Is it like the folks that look back at things that someone said and make it fit as a prediction because it somewhat resembles something that actually happened?  Like looking back now and finding that someone predicted Hitler.  Yeah....um....doubtful.

Whoa.  That sounded deep.

Maybe it's the Aliens.  According to some folks on TV, everything unexplained that happened a long time ago had to be the result of an alien visitation.

Following the clarity of the past, I can see roadblocks here and there, as can Hubby, and perhaps because of these roadblocks, we ended up working together and meeting.  Isn't it possible that we could have met even if those roadblocks did not happen?  Let's talk quantum physics.

Ok, let's not.  I'm already lost.

Evil Twin is a believer that is is no accident that she is here to guide me in life.  That's right.  The Aliens made sure of that.

For accidents waiting to happen this month, go directly to cheese.

The aliens have much to answer for, Reffie.

I don't think that everything happens for a reason. I think everything happens for cheese. But that could also be the Aliens talking. Those Aliens! They are at the root of all evil. Like this challenge. Yeah, that's it! It wasn't me, it was the Aliens!! :-)

And when you read everyone's post for today you will soon find out Aliens are Lobsters!

I have to admit, I've never understood that thing about "everything happens for a reason." Of course it does. Your car slides off the road into a ditch? The reason is because the road was slippery. Someone robs you on the street? The reason is because somebody else wanted your money. It's not like there's some behind-the-scenes entity controlling everything. [Quick - they're not looking! The Aliens are making me say this! Help!]

I explain the mysteries of Space Aliens and Bigfoot in a single blog post titled "The Sasquatch Files" 6/30/2013

I don't know much about aliens. But I kind of DO believe in "everything happens for a reason" - even though the reason might take a long time to present itself.

I hope everything happens for an ALIEN reason.

I thought you guys built a wall to prevent aliens from entering the States? Speaking of roadblocks, you mean that didn't work?

@Paula - Yes, but it's funny how they never explain themselves.

@The aliens are cheesy.

@The aliens are lobsters.

@Frank - Well, um, I hope you can break free.

@Timothy - Of course you did!

@meleah - Sometimes I think of it as Karma and you may never get to see it.

@laughingmom - It probably does.

@noname - Obviously. They plowed right through the dome.

If everything happens for a reason, I'm fucked..

I guess it all comes down to whether you're a stronger believer in free will, or in destiny. Either belief will get you through the day, but I think your day would turn out very differently if you had a stronger belief in one versus the other.

My mom always believed everything happens for a reason, and I just accept that because she was a wise woman. Like Meleah said, we may not see the reason for a long time.

I'm with Frank Lee MeiDere: everything happens for a reason, and usually it us pretty obvious.

Which, however, does not explain Evil Twin and the Aliens. But I could be missing something. After all, I'm only a Bear.

Blessings and Bear hugs!

@Ziva - Oops.

@KZ - That would be very hard to measure.

@Linda - I can understand the belief when there is suffering. There must be a reason for this, right?

@Rob - Next time, set that parking brake.... There is no explaining Evil Twin. Hugs to you, too!

Yes, I suppose everything does happen for a reason - at least 10 years later I can usually see that. At the time I tend to blame the aliens :-)

Hindsight sucks. Why can't we ever have foresight? If we had more foresight, then there would never be any accidents. Except for stupid people. There will always be stupid people.

ReformingGeek said...

@Maria - It's easier to blame the Aliens.

@jayne - If we knew what would be happening to us, there might be more folks committing suicide. Wait.... Um, yes, there will ALWAYS be stupid people.

It probably happened for a reason. :)
