Decoration Day...

Well, at least for my blog.

My award sidebars are very happy today as I'm celebrating the receipt of two very special awards from two very whimsical and nearly always wacky bloggers.

First, ettarose from Sanity on Edge, honored me with this award:

Thank you so much, Etta! It's so pretty and I love green elves maryjane.

Next, Christa, from
The Star Celeb, presented me with this cute Bloggy Love Bear.

It's so nice to see a bear that isn't hungry and/or chasing me on the hiking trails in Hawaii or Maine but I'm a little concerned that his eye appears to be missing.

Uh, ReformingGeek?

Yes?

There are no bears in Hawaii.

Are you sure about that?

Yes.

Then what was chasing me on the trail?

Um....maybe it was your shadow.....or a zombie.

Sure.
OK. Yeah, right.

Getting back on subject (decorations, remember?), I have to give this bear to three of you. I love you all, of course, so I had Cat draw names. He groomed himself, stuck a sticky paw in the entry basket, puked, and then pulled out the following entries:
Yeah. I know. That's four but who's counting?

But wait. There's more. Here's an interesting decoration from a lawn in Winter Harbor, Maine:

The Claw decides who will stay and who will go.

Also, I'm thinking of doing some Halloween decorating around the Geek household. What do you think of the following possibilities?

Outz! Outz! Iz hungries!

YIKES! Is BatKid included?

Yeah. I can see that thing blowing all over the place around here.

It's been raining since I got back from Maine. I'm telling everyone I left the sun on the east coast. I'm starting to gather the animals and the wood for the ark. There will be no bears on my ark, though, 'K?

Nah, the sun left when you left. That sounded mushy didn't it? I don't do mushy. Really, there has been no real sun since you left! Come back, little RG, come back!

congrats on your thousandth award! lol. I love that claw in the yard! I could put two at the end of my driveway.

ReformingGeek said...

@Deb - Thanks, Deb....I think. It sounds like you could put me up in your shed or something. ;-)

@otin - Thanks. I thought the claw was quite amusing.

Hey, I found you through a friend!

I love the rain...unless you have to start building the ark

K, I totally didn't think "claw" when I saw that picture. I really must get my mind out of the gutter.

ReformingGeek said...

@Chief - Welcome. I think I've seen you at BlogginBetty! Stop by anytime.

@Bloggin Betty - LOL but YIKES!

@Reffie Aw thanks BBFF! I really do appreciate it! *smile*

And if you had NOT given it to me? I would have been okay. Okay to let the zombies takez a bitez! So thanks for saving me from that (for now). hee hee

Love the mummy pic! hee hee

Ha! I love winning via a cat puking! Makes everything fair and square. Thanks! :o)

I think the color goes great with the decor. Seriously though, you kept me going in no other way than by coming by with your comments. I really love you for that.

ReformingGeek said...

@Quirky - You are most welcome. I will be sure to send the mummy your way.

@Bee - Cat puke is so refreshing, huh?

@etta - Thanks. I'm glad you liked them!

When Joe and I left Indiana and moved to Florida, we single handedly ended Florida's 4 year "reign of the great drought". I think they should erect a statue in our honor.

You have to do the inflatable spider thingy! Does it come with the batman kid??

Spiders have 8 legs. Since when does Batboy carry a sword?

Skye said...

I love the mummy in the window, that would work great for Halloween!

Congrats on the awards, they look great :) Oh yes, congrats to all those you have given it to as well!

ReformingGeek said...

@dana - If it keeps raining like this, our drought may end but nobody will care since we will all be living in arks.

@Kristen - I was hoping the kid would not come with it.

@Prefers - The poor thing probably got whacked by the weed-eater. I guess BatKid is an opportnist.

@Skye - Thanks! Yeah. That mummy would be great!

Congratulations on your awards! Please don't remind me of your scary bear encounter: it keeps me up at night.

P.S. I wonder how many time that guy's heard the "Hey, you've got crabs" joke about his lawn. Maybe his friends are classier than I am.

Christa Bledsoe said...

Yay, yay, you go girl! :)

Donna said...

YOU GO GIRL!! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!

ReformingGeek said...

@kathcom - Thanks and I'm so sorry. I hope you get some sleep soon.

@christa - Thanks. ;-)

@Donna - Thanks!

Congrats on your well-deserved awards! And they match so well with the decor!
With the 6-legged spider package, they throw the kid in for a minimal charge, but they have a "no-return" clause in the fine print that you can't see until you get it home because the kid has it in his "batboy" costume. Therefore, I am selling my spider kit at a reduced price, if anyone wants it!!! LOL

Yeah, that claw didn't look like a claw to me, either. Looked like something from an "Adult Entertainment" catalog.

I personally like the mummy looking out the window. I'll have to give that idea to Peter.

I love that claw tree

damn I wish I had it

Maureen said...

Awwwwww.... you made four to include me!!! Too cute that bear; thank you so very much! He shall be added to my bling page tonight. You are too sweet. No wonder you receive so many awards. Congrats!

And thank "Cat" for me too; especially for not puking on the award.

ReformingGeek said...

@Collette - Thanks and I'm sure folks really do try to return those things!

@Jacki - Maybe the "claw" is compensating for something. ;-)

@Jean - Just take a stump and buy some paint....

@Maureen - You are welcome. Cat is feeling much better now.

Congratulations on the awards!! Very fun.

I like the pink tree?? I have a couple of tree trunks in the back. I never thought to just paint them. Good red neck idea.

MA Fat Woman said...

I'm not real sure about the pink tree??????

Awesome photos - bet your bbff Quirkster was cared of the mummified zombie - lol.

Kudos on the bloggy award, RG. :)

@Hit40 - Thanks and that was my thought - redneck.

@Ma - It's weird.

@dizzblnd - You're welcome and thanks.

@Marvin - Thanks. I hope Quirky wasn't too frightened.

Are you saying we have sun here in Portland and you don't there in Texas? What next, cats that like to do housework?

Jamie said...

I'm diggin' that mummy. Wait... that is a mummy and not hubby, right?

ReformingGeek said...

@VE - Yeah. No sun here. The cat is dropping hair all over the house and no, he's not cleaning it up!

@Jamie - Yep. It's a mummy. Hubby's fine. ;-)

You are truly an award-winning blogger. Very impressive. And well deserved my friend.

Sorry that I was MIA for a few days. I was at a work conference last week.
