Zebra stew? New coat for Christmas? WT huh?
My aunt contracted viral meningitis and encephalitis, probably from a mosquito bite she received here in Texas (home). She's been in the hospital in Denver, where she had traveled to do some genealogical research. She is headed home today although she is very weak. She will have to go into a rehab facility. And you think weird stuff happens to me?
After two trips to the ER did not identify what was wrong with my aunt, my cousin (her son), the doctor, flew to Denver and admitted her to the hospital and ordered the appropriate tests. Apparently, this ER is not where you want to be when you are deathly ill.
But wait. There's more. My cousin's twin brother's doctor died. This doctor was on the same flight to Denver as my aunt. This doctor was in his 40's. He had a heart attack. Unfortunately, this leaves my cousin without his meds. Um, not a good thing.
Another doctor in the Denver hospital died of a heart attack this week. This doctor was in his 40's. Oh, my. Weird. Really Weird.
Oh, and BTW, please do not go crazy and come into the gym where I work with a gun. 'K? I kind of like myself without holes from gunshot wounds.
In case you have not had enough bizarre:
To sum up the tidbits of my bizarre week:
- Don't have striped skin.
- Don't go outside.
- Don't go to the hospital in Denver.
- Don't be a male in your 40's with a stressful job.
- Don't be a fitness instructor.
CRAP!
What kind of bizarre things have happened to your or yours this week?

A zebra just showed up in my yard yesterday.
Weird, huh?
Finders Keepers.
'things to do in denver when youre dead'
Oh My...I sure cant top any of that...I hope your Aunt recovers and is back to her self soon...
A zebra!
Uh-huh. Sure Reffers. Sure. *wink*
Let's see a photo of the "gone missing sign."
Ha! I knew it! There is NO sign. Is there?
I am so onto you. *smile*
Don't be a teacher. Apparently folks think I should throw my body between the shooter and the children??? I don't think so....
we are all going to run very fast in a zig zag pattern.
@mama-face - Have fun! Zebras can be mean.
@Nooter - Haunt your friends and family?
@georgie - Thanks...but...er...you obviously don't know my aunt. ;-)
@Quirky - Um, yeah. Don't tell. 'K?
@Hit 40 - I think my only instinct would be to protect my own children and since I don't have any, I guess that leaves me zig-zagging right there with you!

@Nooter - ;-) That sounds like an entertaining movie but I didn't see a pooch in the cast. ;-(
I had a rather bizarreless week, especially compared to yours. But I GOTTA get me one of those ceramic pots with the googoo face and the legs coming out of its head!
The Old Silly
I am in a weird place right now?!? lol
I'm not ever going outside again
My dad was diagnosed with gout two weeks ago in his foot. He was put on medication for it, but the pain got worse. Back to the doctor yesterday. Dr. order an x-ray which showed a carpet staple embedded in his foot. Staple versus gout. Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the friggin' donkey.
Then, I had a hangnail at work last Friday so I ripped the sucker off. I learned new truck driver language, under my breath of course, cause it 'smahted wicked' as the Maine'ahs say. Now my finger is twice the size it should be and a lovely shade of crimson accented by the pretty red stripe descending down my finger. After soaking it for a few days, it is only worse. I called the dr. for some antibiotics, but noooooo....I have to go in for an appt. For a freakin' hangnail. Appt is at 4:15 pm. I work until 5 pm. It will take me an hour to get there because where I work and where my Dr. is are at opposite ends of the planet in the middle of tourist season traffic on a f****ing Friday afternoon. So now I get to lose 2.25 hours of pay, fork over the $25 copay all to see some baby-faced idiot who is covering for my doctor who will tell me "Whoa. That looks infected" and he'll give me Amoxicillin for three days.
I hope your aunt feels better. I'll stick with the hangnail issue and I will keep an eye open for that zebra in case it heads north.
@Marvin - Let me know if you find one for sale!
@otin - I think we all must be.
@Queen-size - i don't blame you.
@Deb - A staple in his foot and your infected hangnail? Sheesh! Thanks for the well wishes for my aunt. All you need is a mean, biting zebra!
All of that from a mosquito bite?? WOW!
All I can say is, nothing that bizarre has happened to me. I've just been nursing Emma back to health.
@Jacki - I hope Emma is on the mend.
Oh man what a week-end eh? I tried to mow the lawn and all I got was two HUGE blisters. All from the vibration of the mower (after Grandson hit a stump) Mosquito's are dangerous didn't you know? They cause all kinds of nasty diseases. Your Aunt is lucky her son is a doctor!
I'm afraid I can't top that.. I hope your aunt has a full recovery soon. LOVE the sculpture
@ettarose - Blisters are NOT your friend. Yeah. Mosquitoes are nasty but haven't we all been bitten a hundered times without any problems?
@dizzblnd - I'm glad you can't top that. That sculpture is very special, isn't it?
I heckled a street performer who was hammering a nail into his nose--he tried to ignore me
Wow, that sounds like a bizarre dream.... either that, or you're on an acid trip.
@jean - Oh you are so bad!
@maureen - I wish I were only dreaming. Acid is beginning to sound good.
Really, I think we'd all be happy if you kept bizarre over there in Texas. I don't feel like dealing with bizarre right now. You don't mind do you?
Wow. What's with all the doctors dying? Do they know something we don't?
Best wishes for you aunt's speedy recovery.
@Sue - Unfortunately, bizarre is everywhere!
@Leeuna - No, but they are supposed to. Thanks for the well wishes. She is doing better.
I flew around town and suddenly found myself in New York atop the Empire State Building. No wait... that was a dream. Nah, nothing weird going on here.
Wow that is a crazy week! I had an absolutely normal week :( Boring.
My camel ate some of my heirloom tomatoes...I kid you not! Kim
