What's with the multiple versions of the classic "fear of failure" or "lack of control" dream?
- You signed up for a college course but forgot to attend and it's time for the final.
- You're out walking around without any pants.
- You really didn't graduate from college because there is a problem with your diploma.
- You're up and getting ready. You're in the shower but the water is heavy. You're trying to get dressed but your arms won't work right.
- The stairwell you are on becomes a technical climbing expedition and you just can't get to the exit door.
I'm wondering if perhaps Evil Twin has anything to do with these dreams but I think that nightmare may have been the fault of a warm night and a hot cat snuggled against me.
Actually, I have no clue.
Oh, and those stairs? Maybe I watched this video too many times:
Stairway Illusion
------
Climb the stairway to heaven with the others today.

That video was funny as anything. :)
Oh...and I hope you don't get any fireballs hitting you. That would probably spoil your weekend.
Signing up for classes and not attending? I had that dream last night. It shook me up.
Have you been getting Evil Twin to read my mind?
Blessings and Bear hugs, maybe.
Something tells me I'm gonna have dreams about that staircase now.
You know what's weird? I've never had any of those dreams. I've briefly had the falling one a couple of times years ago, but not the running without being able to get away or appearing somewhere without being prepared. Maybe I've not had that last one because it happens all the time in my real life, so why dream about it?
I totally get those lack of control dreams all. the. time. It's pretty much all I ever have. What the hell is my problem?
I have some of those out of control type dreams too. On recurring dream is that I'm working at a very familiar place and I've been working there for years. But all at once, I realize I haven't been paid my salary for a very long time. Months? Years? When I talk to my boss he said it was my fault because I didn't turn in my time sheets. Ugh!
One of my common nightmares from when I was young was a werewolf chasing me and suddenly I go in slow motion while he continues fast. Those slowmo nightmares are awful!
@Mariann - The video is a lot of fun. Yeah, for no fireballs!
@Rob-bear - Hee Hee. It's a common dream.
@noname - Nightmares!
@Frank - Oh yeah, the falling dream. I have not had that in awhile!
@Margaret - Maybe we feel our lives are out of control?
@Linda M - Wow. That would be a very bad dream!
@Katherine - Slow motion? Yee-ikes!
I have those first 2 dreams all the time! The first one is definitely a result of missing way too many classes in college especially on Fridays. It's not like I was paying for it or anything ;)
Come out to Rochester to visit, Reffie, and we'll go check out that staircase at RIT!
