30 Days of Photographs IV - Carnival

"Will there be rides?  What about snow cones and corn dogs?"

Sorry, not today, Evil Twin.  I'm showing them my ships, my Carnival ships.  I have been fortunate enough to have gone on several Carnival cruises.  Fortunately, none of them were on ships that stranded folks in the middle of the ocean!

Bonus!  Reffie shows some arm. Click to see her bicep in all its glory!
Back in the day, Carnival used to give you a print of your ship as a souvenir.  My mom and I went on our first cruise in 1984 and the black-framed print on the right is the Mardi Gras, a classic old ship that was retired ages ago.  It had some gorgeous woodwork.  Hubby and I took our first cruise on the Celebration (black frame on the left).  I won the 4-day cruise in a drawing at my former employer!   The other ship is the Conquest, a ship we sailed on in 2002 back when it was still new.  It was so pretty and shiny.  Cat would have loved it.  And Tweety?  Well, who doesn't love Tweety?  He's a cruisin', too.  Oh, and Cat would definitely love him.  Burp.

Join the Carnival fun today over at Festival of Ziva!  Take her some cotton candy but leave your cheese at home.

Carnival cruise. Okay.

Carnival Cruise was the first thing that came to my mind since we don't have carnivals around here; we have fairs. What a great set of photos to remember fun times. I'm so glad you haven't been on one of their terrible, horrible, awful, no good, very bad cruises. ;-)

Oh, how wonderful! I bet you had a blast on all of those Carnival Cruises! I think it's neat they gave you a print of your ship as a souvenir. Very cool.

You're lucky. These days a Carnival cruise is no carnival.

Those are great souvenirs. I've decided I love cruises and need to go on some more :)

That's a lovely way to remember your cruise holidays! Great collection.

@Timothy - Uh huh.

@Cheryl - We have fairs and carnivals with the carnivals usually being something a non-profit puts together for fund-raising.

@meleah - We thought the print was a wonderful souvenir.

@noname - They have had some "un-fun" ships.

@Michelle - Cruises are fun but I also like just going to a resort!

@mike - We have enjoyed them!

@Babs - Thanks!

My mom and I went on a carnival cruise to celebrate her 80th birthday. I haven't been on one since.

I'm just not a cruisin kinda gal, I guess.

I do love your prints, and they look great framed on that wall!

It's a funny thing, but we're off to Italy soon. We'll be staying on Monte Argentario, within sight of the poor old Costa Concordia, now righted and being salvaged. Bet you're glad you weren't on board that particular cruise liner!

Okay, I have no idea what Carnival cruises are, but they sure sound like fun. I only ever go on cruises to Sweden and back.

One, I'm jealous.

Two, I'm stunned that Ziva hasn't heard of Carnival cruises given that many of their ships were built in her hometown.

Three, I'm still jealous.

@Tami - Yeah, it doesn't appeal to everyone and they have their drawbacks.

@Jay - Thanks. Italy? Cool! Oh, that poor Concordia. What a sad situation.

@Ziva - Cruising to Sweden? Sweet.

@MikeWJ - Ah, I'm sorry you are jealous. Yeah, I can't believe Ziva hasn't visited the shipyard!

I have only been on one cruise and it was with my Mom! It was just before I got pregnant with my first... I was trying so I knew this was my last time to really have fun... we had a great time. This brought back great memories!

What a great take on the prompt. I've only been on one cruise. Back in 2008 we went on this really big boat. I forget which one.

Did you partake of any Cornish game hens on those cruises? Just wondering.

Nice take! I went on a Carnival cruise 3 years ago and had a fabulous time. I am jealous of all your trips!

@Katherine - What fun! We've cruised with our moms. It was a great experience.

@Lauren - Thanks. You forgot your boat? Oh my!

@Unknown - Hee Hee. Probably.

@StarTraci - Thanks. Glad you had fun.

I've never been on one of those big cruise ships. It would be fun if you went with a lot of friends. Blog cruise, anyone?
